GENERAL INFORMATION:

The closest station is JR Ome Line’s Ushihama Station which is a 10-minute walk to the gate. This year’s festival will feature aircraft static displays, music, food, game booths and various events throughout the two-day festival.

Photo identification with your nationality and any items being carried on base will be checked at the gate. However, large bags, alcohol, glass bottles and cooler boxes cannot be brought on base.

· No public vehicle/motorcycle parking is available.
· Bicycle parking will be available near the supply gate.
· No pets are allowed in the festival area.
· Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas throughout the festival area.

If you are not a U.S. or Japanese citizen and would like to attend the festival, call the Public Affairs Office at 042-552-2511 for additional information.

Vehicle access is limited only for Handicapped: Requestor must precede prior and must carry the authorized pass at the gate. Procedures will be announced on this website as soon as details are determined.

U.S. Embassy Friendship Festival 2010

[Via the US Embassy - Tokyo Newsletter] The U.S. Embassy will host its annual Embassy Community Friendship Day Celebration on August 21st at the United States Embassy’s Mitsui Residential Compound.  This celebration will take place on Saturday, August 21st from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 pm rain or shine.  However, if it looks as if a Typhoon will be hitting Tokyo on the 21st, then this event will be moved to August 28th.  Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event at the compound’s Perry gate.

Ticket prices are 1,000 yen per person. Children under 5 years of age are free. (Please note: Admission tickets are limited to 4500 and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they are sold out. No admission will be allowed without a ticket).

The price of admission includes free beverages, and participation in all of the entertainment, games and events. Activities will include a parade down Main Street USA, concerts and a game corner for children.  In order to gain admission into the compound, anyone over 15 years of age must have photo identification. We ask that you please do NOT bring backpacks or other large bags. Pets are also forbidden. Strollers and bags will be searched for security reasons.
