The last time I blogged about the Cotton Club Japan was to raise issue with the Gosperats performing there in blackface. The Gosperats are signed to a major label, Epic Records Japan which is owned by Sony BMG. So let’s just say that someone up in corporate should have known better! Thankfully, I can report that controversy at the Cotton Club in Japan is a thing of the past.

Based on Harlem, New York’s legendary COTTON CLUB that gave birth to such jazz legends as Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Lena Horne, and so many others, the Cotton Club Japan hosts visiting world-class artists form the core of a regular slate of exciting, adult-focused performances played in an elegant, luxuriously appointed venue, topped off by a delicious menu of authentic cuisine.

You can view the Cotton Club schedule and make your reservation to see great artists that are sure to get you in the groove. The Cotton Club is located one-minute from Tokyo Station in the Marunouchi district. Artists scheduled to perform in July include: The Three DegreesThe WhispersDave Benoit, and The Bar-Kays. Check out the video above to view Eric Darius’ July 2nd performance at the Cotton Club.
